Hockey

Hockey is a great way to stay active, improve health and socialise with others.

You don't have to be an expert in fitness, it is accessible for every level of fitness, ability and body shape.

There are activities and sessions suitable for all ages & abilities in Liverpool and it is a great way to learn a new activity or play one previously played.

It’s designed to help people keep an active lifestyle regardless of age, health and ability, as well as getting those back into hockey who had to stop due to injuries or other reasons.

There are different variations of the game, so hockey is for everyone, regardless of age, ability or gender. There's also a real social side, with a culture of team bonding off the field.

It is very common to have two or more generations of a family in one team.

It is the country's most gender-equal sport.

Back To Hockey is a campaign offering people of all ages either a complete introduction to the game, or a return to hockey if you've had a break from it.  The sessions are fun, social and informal and aimed at people who either have not played for a number of years or are looking to play for the first time. Do not worry if you are nervous or cannot remember any rules; our Back to Hockey coaches will gently guide you through this series of fun and friendly sessions.

Walking Hockey is perfect for players who are looking for a less physically demanding version of the game but still enjoy showing their skills and being involved in the team and social aspect.

Masters Hockey starts at Over 40 for the men and Over 35 for women. There are club leagues all across the country allowing individuals to play with and against like minded individuals.

The sport can be mentally stimulating, will improve your fitness and your hand-eye co-ordination.
