Boxing

Boxing is a good full-body workout. It covers all body areas and provides a useful balance between cardio and resistance training.

Short bursts of high intensity cardio are shown to burn more fat than a steady state cardio session, and also continue to burn more calories long after the workout is over.

It's not all about getting in the ring either, a lot of clubs offer sessions focussing on the boxing skills or even Boxercise / BoxFit classes.

Boxing is an activity for all ages and fitness levels. if you’re worried about being out of shape, recovering from an injury or suffering from a condition, it may be worth consulting your GP before you start.

Remember, you don't have to be like Rocky, boxing is excellent for baseline fitness without even stepping in a ring for competition.
